Citizens Advice on Cranleigh Community Radio

Mike from Citizens Advice Cranleigh discusses what is PIP and how to apply. PIP is a government benefit to help with some of the extra costs if you have long term ill-health or a disability. It can be claimed by people aged between 16 and the State Pension age (if you are over State Pension Age, you can claim Attendance Allowance). It is not means-tested and so you can receive this even if you have a high income or large savings. If you receive PIP and have a family member or friend who cares for you and is on a low income, they may be able to claim Carers Allowance or additional premiums added to existing benefits.

Please see the Citizens Advice web site and the Government web site for more information on PIP.
