Salary: £26,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday (job share considered)

South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Outreach Service, a service within Citizens Advice Waverley, is looking for a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) or Experienced Domestic Abuse Worker. The role is based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford.
This role is open to female applicants only. In light of the nature of the work, the candidate’s gender is considered to be an occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.
You will support survivors of Domestic Abuse who make a disclosure whilst in the care of the hospital. You will be confident in building good professional relationships with staff and teams across the hospital. The role incudes:
- Assessing the risks and needs of DA survivors
- Aiming to reduce further harm to them (and their children) whilst in hospital and on discharge.
- Collaborating with Domestic Abuse support provisions including outreach and refuge in the community to ensure continuity of support.
- Delivering on-going training to acute staff across the hospital
You must be either a qualified Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate or an experienced Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker who would like the opportunity to work alongside Health professionals in the hospital environment.
The successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
